Today I want to tell you about one of the most wonderful, sacred and powerful places of the world. It deserves your attention, because it keeps a lot of hidden treasure for your soul.
The plateau Ukok is The Altai Tibet – one of the most beautiful and mystique places of The Altai Mountains. The name ‘Ukok’ sounds like “listen to Heaven’’. This ancient territory of fantastic beauty keeps countless secrets.
The plateau Ukok unites Russia, China, Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
The tops of the mountains of the Ukok plateau rise to the sky till 4500 meters. These mountains are believed to be “the gates between the 3 worlds”. Shamans claim that it’s “the end of the inhabited world”, there is a hidden key to the secrets of Altai here.
One cannot come here – mountain spirits don’t let go the strangers.
The legends say the plateau keeps skiff’s gold and that there are gates to the legendary Shambala there. Local people consider Ukok the edge of the world, “lying on the threshold of heaven”. It’s not available for human eyes, because this area is held by powerful spirits.
Altai territory hide numerous burial mounds, where in the layers of eternal frozen ground “sleep” the representatives of last eras. According to skiff’s mythology, Ukok is a place where the Earth communicates with Heaven. Altai kams (shamans) protect the peace of the ancient burial mounds, considering Ukok a place of power.
In the end of the XX century, during excavating one of the burial mounds it was found a mummy of the ‘altai princess’ in the hard – to – get area of Ukok plateau – 2000 meters altitude. A young woman of European appearance was wearing fine – spun clothes made of white silk, adorned with gold and precious stones. The skin of her arms was covered with a blue tattoo.
Her wig was made from a horse hair, thick felt, wool, leather and adorned with numerous carved stones and pearls. A thick red belt which cinctured the princess indicated her as a woman – warrior – Ochi Bala. The princess held a ritual lariks stick – an instrument of “creation of the world”. There was a ritual instrument and a druidic scepter in the sarcophagus, covered with gold foil. Buried around her were six horses, saddled and bridled, her spiritual escorts to the next world, and a symbol of her evident status.
The burial of 5 thousands years old, was wonderfully kept due to Ukok’s eternal frozen ground. The aborigines call ‘Altai princess’ – The princess Kadyn – a foremother of the humankind, the heaven’s messenger.
The Body of Princess Ukok, who died aged 25, had several tattoos on her body, including a deer with a griffon’s beak and a Capricorn’s antlers. The tattoos have been perfectly preserved for 2,500 years.
‘Compared to all tattoos found by archeologists around the world, those on the mummy are the most complicated, and the most beautiful,’ said Dr Polosmak.
‘More ancient tattoos have been found, like the Ice Man found in the Alps – but he only had lines, not the perfect and highly artistic images one can see on the body of the princess.
The shamans from all over the world come to this place to communicate with the spirit of The Altai princess. She helps everyone who has good thoughts, intentions and wishes. When I was given a shaman initiation, it was found out that we (the princess and I) are bonded somehow, according to previous lives. And the symbols (a tattoo & the signs on my tambourine) – are my spirits of help and protection.
I do recommend you to visit this magical place, to feel the Altai spirits and maybe if you are lucky – to get The Altai princess’ blessings.
Yours,
Nayada
